Here's a very old pic of mine running. It was modded to run in sump, but this is what I had at the time and it worked, not efficiently, but it worked.

You can see how aerated the water is below the collection cup. I would also recommend a piece of foam ziptied or attached in some way to the putput of the skimmer. This will significantly reduce the microbubbles going to the tank.

It will be a while till you start getting foam. Sounds like you got it running right if you see white aireated water. Best thing you could do right now is go to Michigan and forget about it.

I am running the seaclown on my 30gal, it is not way over rated for your 25gal as I fell seaclown overrated there skimmer. You are going to give that skimmer atleast a week or to for it to break in. I would highly suggest taking the air adjuster valve that comes with the skimmer and throw it away, replace it with one that will be more percise to adjust. I used a air adjuster off an old penguin power head I had, the skimmer worked 100% better and I didn't have to fool with it every 10 seconds. I belive you can also go to Lowes/homedepot and find one. Here is how I set the air, 1. completly open air valve till you will notice an air pocket in the U tube that goes over the top of tank. 2. Slowly close air vale till that air pocket gets sucked down the tube and leave it alone. Thats all I do and I am prettty pleased with the results of the seaclown, I get so much dark foam that it will acctually start to rise out the vent hole in the lid of the collection cup. As far as micro bubbles, it will get better over time but I still get them in the tank just not bad enough to bother me. Also if you use anykind of gel like additives such as "stresscoat" it will send the skimmer crazy with bubbles. There are also so many different modifacations you can do to a seaclown but I found just changing that junky air valve it comes with makes a world of difference. If you would like send me a PM and I can email you a pic of the air valve I am useing, I haven't figured out how to post pics on this forum yet

I've been running my one for a year now and it is doing well once it has been run in and set up correctly.

Take a look

All you need is for the break in period to finish and you on your way. I have very few microbubbles in the tank.

Just got back from Michigan and no foam got a Brass valve from home depot going to try to tweek it with that .

Good luck Ronny, you probably still got some time before it finnaly breaks in and starts to produce foam. I still think it took my seaclone about a month to break in. I was ready to throw in the towell and put it in the "spare parts closet" till one morning I woke up and it was produceing foam.

yeah... i've had mine for about six months and HATE it. if you look through the archives you'll find a mile-long list of mods but IMO i've done them all and none really worked well. do yourself a favor and save up for a decent skimmer. gl bud

Just called customer service that represents this skimmer. Told them that there were not many favorable comments here about this product. She didn't say much she only works there and I didn't expect them to have much to say. But as usuall she said she would pass information along. I told her to go to this forum and read what is being said about this product.

Ronny I would take a huge hammer to that skimmer and If your on a tight budget get a ps75 needlewheel skimmer off e-bay for 30 bucks + shipping. I did and it out skims the sea clone 10-1. You can see mine in this video about half way through it. Mine is in the sump but people are saying they do even better as hang ons. This is after 10 hours of skimming.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3RuPaY71vc

sdc19982002 is right. If you want a decent & cheap skimmer, go with PS75 or PS160 needle wheel skimmer off e-bay. They are better than Seaclone 100 skimmer.

This one is new never used it's starting to skim not a lott in cup but it's working. i contacted manufacturer and they said it might take up to 4 weeks for it to break in and start skimming like it should. I'm takeing this with a grain of salt.

I do agree that this is not the best skimmer by far out there. It will work fine on smaller tanks such as my 30gal and your 25gal. If it is starting to try to produce some foam, let it be, and don't fool with it much more. Break in means time for all the oils, chemicals, glues used in building it clean off. Any new skimmer, even the most expensive ones have to go thru this. Kepp us posted on your progress, but I can guarentee you that in a few weeks you will notice an improvement in foam prodution.

When I feed my corals marine snow zooplankton twice a week will I have to shutt skimmer off . If I do how long?
