Adjusting Protien Skimmer

how do i know how to adjust the amount or air going into my skimmer. i have a nautilos te skimmer with a 525gph berlin pump. should i put more air and raise the water level with the gateway or lower gateway and use less air but more tornado action?

depends on weather you want to skim heavy or light. If you've got alot of livestock and feed heavily, you want to skim heavily. That means you raise the water level and catch all the gunk. It'll give you a wetter skimmate. Skimmate will be dark brown/greenish.

If you're light on livestock you can increase the bubbles and catch just the light foam. Skimmate will be lighter in color. Dark yellow, maybe light brown.
