Yes, I had it in an 18gal rubbermaid tote with 5 gallons of tank water from a water change.

Do you use a pump for the supply to the reactor, or is it gravity feed. When you were cycling it in the Rubbermaid, did you have to use a feed pump also.

I have built a smaller version using a phos ban reactor. I plan on having it gravity feed from my overflow when I place it on line. I guess I'll need a pump to feed it when it's cycling in the tub ??

I would like to get it going, & see how it works before I post some pics of it

When cycling I used a power head to feed it. On the tank I tee'd off the return line.

Since this will take several days to cycle in the tub, I would imagine that you need to have a heater in the tub also ???

Update:

NO3 - 2.5 ppm :D :rollface: :strooper: :bum:

19 day on the tank, NO3 went from 25ppm to 2.5ppm
