Well, I thought I started one of these threads already, but I cannot find it. So here is V2.0.

ok, so I set up my 90 last night, kinda.

Let me know what you all think of this scape. It is not finished on the left side yet. Still gonna build that side up some.

Also, the branches on the floor on the right are just laying there until they go in the sump. not part of the scape.

Schlonga branch ... gotta love it.

Dude, I will buy that rock from you if you want to sell it. Let me know how much. I can see that with some hairy mushrooms in my tank!

ok, enough with the dick rock. I am actually looking for real feedback.

zach it will probably go in my sump with the other extra rock.

You need to try to stack it in some type of formations. It looks like you just dumped the rock in there. I'm not bashing but u need to play with it some & I'm not talking about the schlong rock.

I don't think you have too much rock in there at all. I would input as much of the rocks you have in there and stack it a bit differently. Those branches would make some interesting formation!! With zoas or something growing on them would be really neat!!! I actually think you need a few more pieces in there. It really depends on how you want your landscape to look after you finish. Making some sort of cave at the bottom would be neat too. Good Luck!

Ok, any critics in the house?!? ;)

A good start Adrian. Play with it over time the next few weeks and see what you like. Caves are good for fish and also create zones for low level light that you may need for some Coral.

alright, updated scape. Only one small rock is not in there from the previous version. And I may use it to prop up the piece of slab leaning against the pile on the left to make a shady spot, possibly for a sun coral :) and again disregard the mess on the far right. I almost have enough water made to have my sump full and I can put it down there.

I think that's much better. Any thoughts on drilling and stacking the rock. Those aren't the ideal shapes for doing so, but you might be able to figure out something cool, and be able to use the flatter pieces to an advantage.

No, I am not really wanting to drill them. I was tossing that idea around during the planning stages of the tank, but decided against it. I am just taking the "dry stack" approach. They are all pretty solid, and being set before the sand goes in, I won't have to worry about burrowers. I think the flat rock is going to be a ledge, providing me a little shady spot, and then one small pillar from my current tank will go behind that. and that will be the only rock going in the DT from my 45 the rest will go in the sump until my frag tank is up and running and a little bit for the 6 gallon cube I am thinking about getting for my daughters room.

Lookin' good. I like the look of 2 mounds leaving the center open. Sounds like a good idea on stacking the rock first and then adding the sand.

Steve

Ok that looks alot better. Now try this the top rock on the left side stack. It looks like if you just FLip it over it may look better & create a cave at the same time.
