Advice for replacement DE 150 watt

I just bought some USIO 20k's from steve, but they're way too blue for me. The 12 or 14K's that came stock are way too yellow. I think I might just go back to the IWASAKI 50k's......They burn pretty white but look nice with the t-5 actinic's. Anyway, who's got an opinion.......Tom......I know you've got one:lol: :lol:


If anyone's interested in the 20k's I paid $53 ea. from steve......they've got 18 hours on 'em so far. $80 for both.

the only DE's i've ever run were XM 20k's but i likey the blues!

Best all around bulb that I asked for reviews as far as DE was a phoenix 14k. So I bought one and its been great, right blend of blue and white.

The 50KK blows the Pheonix away IMO, both in terms of PAR and color temp (that I find pleasing). I love the 50KK as you can tell, in fact, Steve said mine should be here today :lol:

Ya Steves tank w/ the 50k and vho's is unreal colors! A bit too white for me but if you add enough blue supplement its off the hook. Isnt the 50k a SE though? or does it also come as a DE?

Yup, I've got one going right now (side by side) with the 20k. I think I'm gonna go with the 50's

It comes in either a MEDIUM mogul or DE IIRC, I use the DE. I do suppliment as well. IMO it breaks in a bit on the pink side, but with actinics I don't see that at all and the two color temps combined really make my tank pop
