Advice on how to grow out Zoa's

I have a small frag tank that is 48"L X 13"T X 13" D and holds about 35 gallons of water. I have 220 watts of CF 2-10K and 2-Actinic,10 gallon sump. total flow in tank is about 30X. I would like to know what it take to have good grow out of Zoa's. The ones I have seem to be very happy but do not multiply ? Thanks in advance ...Tim

i'd say upgrade to mh lighting and you may get more growth. i simply upgraded from one mh to two and had increase in growth.

You can achieve exceptional growth with T-5s.

i have t-5's 4x36 in a 45gal and mine have started to multiply a quite a bit. i see a big difference between those and my former CFL's.

I have compacts on my 20L, and I am getting about polyp a week on most of my frags.

Wow a polyp per week that is sweet ! I think I am going to try some T5's. I have a 4X54 watt somewhere that I can retro.

I have used everything but led and would never get rid of my MH. Don't worry about heat as a few fans will do the trick. Unless you keep the temp up in the house.

I have a 150 watt hallide on my 9 gallon. I picked up a colony of about 7 poylps 2 or 3 weeks ago. I see a new polyp about every 3 or 4 days.

I have a 20W 50/50 on my 5 hex. and i get a few polyps of growth a month. My GSP is a weed and my yellow polyps have doubled in 2 months.
my Wine Zoas have gone from 8 to 14 polyps in 5 months.

I have cfs and get great growth. On most frags I get 2 polyps a week. But then I get some varietys that just don't spread much at all.

I have also had some good luck with PC's. I only have 70 watts on my 30 gallon. My levels are a little different though. My PH sits at 8.3 and my alk is 9 dkh... that may have something to do with it....what kind of stuff are you adding to your water?

I runs 2x250 MH and 4x54w T5 HO over a 90g and get great growth

I have the Nova Extreme ( lunar lights) T-5 fixture on my 55g tank. I have a few frags of zoos that are beginning to spread like crazy. .:eek1: I really like these lights alot.
There are 2- 10000*K and 2-Actinic 420nm and 4 lunar lights.
There is also a built in fan. It is a really good light set up for not alot of money like as with MH

i had the same experience when i switched to t-5s from pc...i had zoos that had'nt grown in months grow several polyps over a couple weeks i have a 15gal tank and i have the current t-5 unit with 100 watts and the moon lights

Getting decent growth on some types with Pc's
whammin watermellons went from 7-20 atleast
alien eyes went from 4-9

rest kind of go pretty slow though
