Advice on new addition

Hello everyone. I am looking at purchasing a new coral. Possibly a chalice or maybe some kind of sps. I have had good luck with lps like candy canes and some euphyllia(thanks Jed and Shane. The torch and hammer are doing great). Any recommendations? Chalices seem to be a little more money and prettier. I don't want to waste my money though. Do they need more light then the euphyllia? I have a four bulb t5 fixture over a 30 inch long by 18 inch tall tank. Could I keep a chalice or some lower light sps?

If your candy canes are doing well and is puffy, then your water is ready for chalice. Go get some nice one :D you can also try 1 sps and mount them higher in the tank to see what kind of growth you will get before adding more.

I got a freebie SPS frag for you. I can bring it to the friday meeting. I got a birdsnest and tricolor bali.

If you couldn't get it here, you can always make a trip to Greenmarine in Berley he has lots of frags for $10 each. also you can sign up for the Bar frag swap and start your collection that way too. The swap is this Sat in the bay area.

That's great Jed thanks. You are stocking my tank one frag at a time. I can't wait untill my collection gets bigger and I can start giving back to the club.

Yeah I have been meaning to get down there and check out greenmarine. $10 frags sounds pretty good. As far as the BAR swap I really wish I could go it sounds fun but I have to work.
