As a result of recent <a href="http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=948701" target=_blank>upgrades</a>, I have an extra 10 gallon tank.
I would like to turn that tank into a sump, while spending the least amount of money possible, but need some advice.
I am thinking of using the Fluval 104 as the return pump.
The first thing I need to know is, what would be the smallest overflow I could get? I'm not opposed to drilling the new tank, but I would like to avoid another major reno if possible. Really, at $17CAD, I could just buy a new tank, paint it, drill it, build a weir, and then move everything over again...
Second, can flexible tubing be used for the overflow into the sump?
Here is a drawing I did of the proposed layout/plumbing, let me know what you think:
