Well, I was originally planning on adding a 30-gallon tank to my existing reef for horses, but looking around I found that the temperature would be a little too high. So, that tank's going to become a mantis shrimp tank.
So...I'm not looking at the possibility of either a 56 column or 65. Would that be big enough for about 6 horses?
Also, what filtration do you recommend. If I were doing a standard reef, I'd go with a berline sump w/ sock, protein skimmer, and fluidized filter with carbon and anti-phos. However, I know that some people don't like skimmers with horses. So, if not a skimmer, then would a canister like an Eheim Pro II be a better option?
Any experience on what lighting would be needed to grow macro in a 24-25" deep tank?
Thanks.
