getting back into saltwater. I moved and have a stable home. I happen to face the ocean and the itch is back. the last time I sold my tank when i moved away . I rather do small water changes more often then big ones. so I am drawn to smaller tanks. I'm trying to decide on what tank to pick. there is two I am interested in. one is 60x32x27 the other is 80x40x40 . (cm not inches )considering my favorite type of inhabitants all care about floor space over volume. do you think the small tank would be fine for a few fish and many hermit crab and corals. or would there be a big enough difference to justify getting the much larger tank even though floor space increase is minimum? I'm a bit stuck on what to go for.

Some quick math:
80 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm = 31 x 16 x 16 inches = 34 gallons
60 cm x 32 cm x 27 cm = 24 x 13 x 11 inches = 15 gallons

I would definitely go for the larger option. 20cm (7")more length will help. 15 gallons is quite a small tank, and your fish options are really limited.

What fish do you want?

Im running 2 20gal tanks & wish id gone 40gal ea. min now after growth of corals but i can live with it by fragging & changing coral selections from time to time which allows me to exp different types of corals.... a nice perk, but even with that believe me when i say go with the larger tank you will be much happier down the rd. Only get scarlet hermits if you plan on having ANY snails in your CUC or you will loose all snails from reg hermits.
