Advice please on Stream pumps

Hi Roger

I am in the midst of taking my 550 tank down and reconfiguring it. I really want to improve the water flow in it. Currently, I have 2 Ampmaster 3000s. One is hooked to the sump as a return pump, and the other is on a closed loop. Due to the configuration of my tank, there are lots of bends and elbows in the return pvc, so my flow isn't what I would like. The Stream pumps seem to be a good option.

My question is, knowing that I currently have moderate flow in the tank, what stream configuration would you recommend to "kick it up"? I don't foresee keeping sps, but you never know. As of right now, I want to make my tank "happier" for LPS, and reduce the amount of gunk and detritus that seems to accumulate.

What are the dimensions?


Take it easy Brian, I had no idea you had such a big tank, I thought you just were here to ref the sump

8x3x3 are the dimensions. It is sitting empty right now. All fish and live rock moved to temp home in a large 150 gallon tub.

I think you need about 8 of the 6200's and 3 or 4 waveboxes.
