im looking to purchase/buld a 125-150 acrylic tank, there is a guy locally selling a 125, but he hasnt responded to any pm's. ill prolly end up calling him.

it has 1 1" overlfow, and im not shure of the dimensions. i like deep tanks. it comes with a acrylic canopy and stand.

would it be worth it to pass this up and build my own 150 60x24x24 1/2" acrylic tank? and id end up building my own stand and canopy.

im guessing it will cost about $450 shipped for the acrylic.

Its really a personal call. If you have tank building experience, I am always up for a challenge as a DIY'er. However, when its all said and done, its probably not going to offer much of a cost savings over a used tank. However, over a new one, thats an entirely different situation.

With that being said, if you haven't built a tank before, its a bit of a gamble as from what I hear, they can be tricky.

I agree with Serpentman - you should go ahead and buy that guy's tank cuz I hear it's really nice - plus he really needs to get his basement cleaned out. =)

K-rok is a good guy and it sounds like a pretty good deal.
But... If you go custom take a look at the folks down in Mt. Gilean (Ostrum mfg. 419 946 6887) They built my touch tank and did an amazing job!!!
