Aesthetic improvements to nano skimmer (collection cup!)

I've got a 20g nano (no sump). The overall presentation is extremely pleasing right now, nice stand and uncluttered top (only a light).

It's currently skimmerless, and I'm thinking of adding a nano skimmer. Unfortunately, the skimmer has a little clear toilet bowl (a.k.a. collection cup) on top, and I'd rather not have a small tub of brown sludge as the crown to my nano.

Anyone have any ideas on beautifying this piece of gear? E.g. would painting the collection cup black be the simplest route?

painting it sounds like the solution, I would mask out a stripe so you can peek in there....

You can paint yours black, I like to see whats going on in mine. If an uncluttered tank is what you desire a sump might be in order.
