Can anyone help me with some advice on an aetech evolution 500 skimmer I can not get it to proform anything you do to it or the water quits skimming after cleaning which they suggest it takes 24-36 hours to start skimming again very picky for a skimmer I was told was a quality piece any help or advice would be apriciated

I don't know about the 500, but I've owned a reef devil. It was very finicky but skimmed great when it was skimming. I had to remove some of the bio-balls to get it to skim somewhat good. If you put your hands in the tank it takes hours for it to recover and this includes feedings. More trouble than it's worth.

The needle wheel skimmers work much better for me. I'll try and help if you have questions. The setup is probably similar.

yes this has been my experience also does a good job other than it skims really wet and is very finicky thought maybe i was doing something wrong
