Was at the LFS today and they have the 180g AGA RR tanks on sale at 675.00 without over flow kits. They also have a Perfecto/Marineland 150g with overflow kits for 499.00.

What are you guys paying for these size tanks?? Want to know if its a good deal or bad since only a few stores around here carry tanks that big.
Should I snatch the 180 up or keep on looking.....I`m in the process of making the switch from my 90 to a larger and am looking for a new tank and know you guys have a broader buying base to look at.

well i can tell you i upgraded from a 90 to a 180 and havent looked back since except for today when i had to move the whole thing into a new apartment .but you will not be upset when you see all the new room you would have.

also if you dont get overflows in the tank i have a pair that im trying to sell right now that just came out of my 180.let me know if you would be interested.selling them cheap.

Are you talking about the overflows themselves or the overflow kits?
I really think I may go with the 180. The 150 is a great price but would rather have a wider tank and 6" is a bunch when aquascaping :)

im talking about the overflow boxes themselves. i feel the kits are over rated.you can get all the plumbing at lowes for cheaper

The tank I`m looking at is RR so it has the boxes already installed. Thanks for the heads up on your boxes just in case though.

That is a very good price for a AGA 180 reef ready. Though the RR does come with the overflows already installed, you still need to make or purchase over flow and drain pipes/ bulkheads etc. AGA has their own kit (you would need 2) that runs for about $45/50 each.

go with the 180...i had a similar decision about 5 years ago when upgradin from my 90...either a 125 or a 180....went with the bigger one because if you dont, you'll always wonder/want bigger...kind of like buying a tv

you can say that again..BTW dont call me to move it again.

Thanks guys. Looks like the wife gave the go ahead to order the tank but wants the rooms painted and carpet replaced before I break the others down and set this one up. A bump in the road but a step in the right direction having the tank already.

rtecanoe,
I`ll probably build my own dursos and save some $$ in the long run. Already knew I had to have the kits but not worth it seeing I would need to replace the bulkheads they come with anyways.
