In fact, Zero Edge is now going to carry these size trees for all the large cube tank owners out there.
Good news! ... thanks to you for bringing it to their attention!

Roughly how far would you say the mounting bracket is (for the light) from the back of your tank? My new tank is 30" front to back...I believe yours is 40"? In the pic it appears that the bracket will hold your light pretty much centered front to back...

Also, do you have the light mounted to the back of the stand or the wall?

These lamp trees reach 20" (center on 40" tank). I mounted them on oak plywood planks bolted to the steel frame. I used a single 'standard' lamp tree on my 30 gal FW planted. Because it reached too far, I mounted it to the wall and positioned the tank accordingly.

Here is a crappy side shot of the fixture mounted. This might give you better perspective.

You are the man!!! I love planted aquaria, especially Amano style

Hmmm, lets see..... an ADA planted and an AGE reef..... life is good :smokin:

I did fresh water cichlid tanks for 10 years and have always wanted to do a planted tank. If I could only find the ADA tanks. Everywhere I look they are sold out of the smaller ones.

The freshwater tank looks awesome, I'm converted my old 120 long into a freshwater turtle tank tried to do planted but the turtles just eat the plants.........

Well the yellow with pink tip table arrived from LiveAquaria yesterday. First think I noticed was how cold the water was. I should have took temp but was too excited to think about it at the time. When I removed it I noticed one branch was already starting to go.

I immediately fragged that branch and dipped.

LiveAquaria CS was really cool about it. They just asked me to send them some pics and keep them posted on the status. They reminded me its guaranteed! As of this AM I noticed the base started going. Hopefully by this PM there will still be enough to frag up.

Continuing with the belated progress update, here are some shots of the plumbing. As you can see, I tried my best to keep the plumbing out of the way. With the skimmer installed there is not a lot of room to work around down there. The UV was a little tricky as I wanted to make sure the opening to the housing faced the front for easy bulb replacement.

Shot in back of the tank where the MRC kalk reactor and LiterMeter III reside. I have since added another shelf for the Profilux to sit on.

Looks like you have some room for calcium reactor under the stand. :)
I was thinking of getting another kalk reactor again since I have low pH. How do you like the MRC?

Yes the CALCIUM reactor will be in sump (H&S 150). The Kalk reactor could go under the stand but it is just easier to service it from behind the tank. I like the MRC a lot. This is a custom one which is shorter than the models made at that time (which I like). I really like their new model with the built in timer even though I don't really need since the stirrer is controlled by the Profilux. Its just cool tho

WOW.

Looks incredible, great job! I'm amazed how well the plumbing turned out, considering how much was necessary. Looks very simple and clean.

Hope that acro pulls through - thats a killer piece.

Very nice Asfur too....now I'm really jealous! :D

Tank is looking great, awesome job on the plumbing. Sorry if you answered this already but what is the wood running across the top of the tank and down the front?

The 2x4's were originally there to rest the fixture on before I mounted it. After the light was mounted, I stapled some deer netting to it in case anyone tried to jump.

Scary close call happened with the 2x4's. I turned on the halides for fun and forgot to turn them off that night. The next day I went to work and the computer turned them on at about 11AM. When I got home, it smelled like burning wood. Despite this it did not occur to me that it was the halides burning the 2x4's. I figured it was just a fireplace in the neighborhood as it was cool that night. A few days later when we went to mount the light, I saw the charred surface of the 2x4's and it all clicked! Who knows if it would have ever flashed over but nonetheless it was not good!
