Thanks! The tallest rock is probably about 6" under the water.

WOW...For just "throwing" the rock in there it looks awesome!!

There are some awesome open areas on the sand bed. I really like that look!

No Windex. Its just a bottle of RO.

Yes a little harder to mount but wasn't much of an issue in my last tank. The ability to build really cool structures with branch makes it worth it.

Here is a sketch of how the rock is laid out now and direction of flow on closed loop returns. Not included is flow path or returns nor Stream 2's which have yet to be added.

They are 250W SE using Giesemann bulbs. The Giesemann magnetic ballast overdrive closer to 300W. I did not check out the K but they burn like 14K. Based on the age of the system, I will probably need to replace them soon anyway.

Will go with Reeflux 20K as my prev system showed the best results with them. Also kicking around the idea of fabricating some pigtails to convert over to PFO 400W HQI ballasts. Could also possibly do a 600W in center. I have not really researched what K options are available in 600W yet. We will just have to see what my colors do.

Nope...those are probably just oil coolers or radiator. Even if it was a turbo, need to put it into context....turbo lag can kill a car's overall performance on certain tracks. Also worthy to note that the M3 was voted best handling behind the R8 in a decent group of cars in the latest Motor Trend. Porsche was like 5th (surprisingly).

really? Compared to the GT-R?

I'm not so sure turbo lag is that much of an issue anymore. Proper sizing with advanced turbocharger design has led to some cars that have virtually no lag whatsoever. 335i and GT-R come to mind. I know some complaints of the latest 911 turbo are the lag, but really, when you're in the in a factory turbocharged car roadracing, shifts at redline are not going to fall below the powerband.

Now obvioulsy a car modified for road racing will likely suffer from lag on an autocross course, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm not a big fan of the cayman. Sure it handles well, but without the umph to back it up, it ends up sort of mid-pack.

If I had the funds, I'd pick up a GT-R. It's not beautiful, but I could take it around Sebring balls-to-the-wall destroying cars twice the cost. :D

Sorry for the off topic....back to main, what an awesome equipment list!

Would love a side view shot if you can get one!

In the works...Just trying to get all the gear hooked up and get the rockwork perfect! Right now I am tripping over spaghetti wire and gear all over the place!!! Its not pretty!

Wow, $76K for the base GT-R model. U guys are rich.

The most fun I've ever had was driving my friends mid-engine Acura NSX because the handling was solid and even though the engine is not the most powerful, the response was immediate because of the light weight of the car.

I hear Honda is coming out with a V12 version of the NSX. If I ever get a chance...

Hoping to get a little feedback and guidance. The water level in the tank is about 1/2 inch from the top which is a little too close for comfort. I would like to have another 1/2 inch of room and the only way to do it is to make the slits between the teeth of the overflow a little longer. Unfortunately I have never seen Dremel jobs turn out that nice. Got me thinking that some sort of jig could be made. Below is a sketch of what I came up with. Essentially it is a piece of acrylic with two rows of equally spaced guide holes for two pegs to fit in. The center has a hole drilled out for the router bit to fit through and the router will bolt to the jig in the provided holes.

With the router mounted, you place the pegs between two of the teeth and start grinding. You can make a guide line below to make sure all the slots are drilled the same length.

Thoughts? Will it work? Anyone have experience?
