Aggressive clown

Can some clowns be too aggressive for their nem. I got a RTBA that is 12" and very healthy when put in tank. 1 week after putting it in tank I got it a Gold Striped Maroon Clown. The clown immediatly took to the nem but is so aggressive toward it I fear it will kill the nem. It has ran the nem under the rock it is attached to and has proceeded to clear away all the sand from around the rock. What should I do.

Yes, especially maroons. I'm surprised though due to the size of the anemone. Usually only smaller anemones are effected too badly. Some clowns are like that and wont grow out of it (in my experience). Keep an eye on the BTA.

I'd watch for a few days, if it continues I would consider removing. It depends on the severity of the damage caused to the anemone.

Turned rock over to expose nem to light. It was open most of the day but now shrunken and the clown seems determined to batter the hell out of it. I think I'm going to have to remove him. Lights just went off so I'll see what happens.
