AGHHH!! What happened to my Condy?

Yeikes... So about an hour ago I go to check on the tank and everything looks great, the Condy is fully inflated and in the open.

I come back and the stupid tiger tail is directly ontop of the Condy. The cucumber is about 5 in long, anemone is about 4 in across. I gently pick up the cuke and put him back on the sand. The anemone shows no signs of damage. I did brush against one of the tenticles, and it was slightly sticky, which I took to be a good sign...

30 min later its tenticles are deflated, stringy white stuff is coming out of its mouth, and its rapidly crawling back into the rock.

Ammonia and nitrite are zero, nitrate is 10, ph is 8.0, salinity is 1.024

Did the cuke do this or is this just a normal deflating type activity?
At what point do I give up and get him out of there? I cant really do the smell test since hes so far into the rock...

I believe that anemones (sp?... it's late :) ) expell their digested contents through their mouths (operculum?) and deflate somewhat when this happens. It may be possible that it didn't like the "taste" of the cuc and expelled what contents where in it (blew chunks). I would watch it for signs of continued deflation and **if it starts to disintegrate** get it out but not before. The condys are supposed to be very hearty. Most likely it will reinflate in a few hours.

Good luck.

Doc is right on anenomes only have one Entrance/exit it mouth they will occasionaly expell and deflate give it some time to reinflate the cucumber prob stressed it out ..

Doclink,

Thanks for the advice just to be patient and wait it out.

You're right, the condy reinflated in the morning, and ate 1/4 a shrimp the next day. As of today, its recovered quite a bit of its color so I assume its nice and healthy.

As a side note the cuke was not as fortunate. For whatever reason it was decaying the next day so I took it out. The second cuke is doing just fine so I'm guessing it was the condy.

Thanks again
