I have everything setup but my overflow doesn't seem to be working correctly. I have not been able to get a siphon at all.
It should start siphon even if the power goes off, etc...
I have tried everything I have read, including simulating what would happen in a power outage.

Look in my gallery???

#1 What should I do

#2 This has me very worried when leaving town?

Thanks!

Is the water level in the box that drains to you sump high enough to keep the end of the U TUBE in water before you attempt to start the siphon??

Say I turn everything off. I fill the sump 1/2 way and the overflow is full. Is does nothing but continue to rise

if you have any powerheads you could run tubing into the u-tube to suck out the air that's causing your airlock.

As long as both ends of the u-tube stay submerged when you shut off the power, everything is fine. What continues to rise when you turn off the power? If it the level in your sump, this has to do with your return line needing a siphon break at the water level in the tank.

The water in the diplay tank rises to the top but it never starts to siphon. I have to kick off the pump otherwise it will overflow.

You do know you have to start the siphon, right? I use a little peice of air hose and put it in the U tube, then suck out the air. Then the siphon will start.

I didn't but I do now, so once the siphon starts and say the power goes out, it won't break siphon, correct, and if it does, will it start back up?

Yes, it's designed so that once the siphon is started, it will not break if there's a power outage. If the siphon does break, it will not restart on it's own.

What i do is put a hole in the middle of the u tube and put hose there(caulked) and a valve at the end of hose. I suk out the air like that. Way easier than the u tube in the overflow.

I wouldn't recommend that, myself. You only have to start the siphon once. Drilling a hole in the u-tube leaves the potential for a leak that could break the siphon, causing a flood. Start the siphon the hard way, sleep better at night.

i've had mine running for two years + no problems just my 2 cents its up to you every one has an opinion...

Just curious but I have more of a J-Tube rather than a
U-Tube. I would think that the U-Tube would sit further in the water. Should I get a U-Tube?

BTW... Thanks for all your help!
