AI Director Beta - Who got picked? Lets talk 'Director'!

Hey anyone have the issue where your lights are discovered on the layout screen, but when you go the control tab it says no lights? It was working fine until I changed out a puck with a new led layout. Now nothing is working.

you have to add the light again with the new led color it think it a new light.

try deleting the light from the layout tab, then press the red button on the light to rediscover it.

Anyone knows if I can connect the Nano Sol via Vega with a cable, and then control it via the Director?

It is my understanding the Director is strictly wireless, so you would need the wireless adapter for the Vega and even then not sure if it would see the piggy backed Sol

Yea I have done all that. I totally started over, I even reset the director and vega. I noticed a few others having the same problem lately, but no one had the solution. I also deleted the tank layout I had before. I started from square one.

so when you plug the director in and go to the System info tab you see the version
ai-director : 1.0.26-r20 ?

i did notice my date and time were off by a few weeks and hours today.

The Vega and Hydra are suppose to dim right down after 20 mins of losing signal

A red led just means it lost internet, it doesn't mean it isn't still controlling the lights. You just won't be able to access it to make changes. It still runs the program with your lights.

True, i thought the member was talking about loss of comms between the internal wifi to the light rather than external dongle to the router, i didnt read the red led comment :spin2:, my mistake.

So am I hearing that people are plugging the Director right into their router to have a more stable connection? I think I might be too far from the router. I keep losing signal.

Just got mine...lots of issues. Isn't this product out of Beta now?

I have 3 lights. 2 worked fine. The 3rd keeps failing on discovery. Fails on firmware update. Trying multiple channels.

Error after error in the web browser. I thought I waited long enough for this to be "finished", but maybe not?

Anyone else still having "early adopter" issues with the Director?

"Things went wrong....communication to the controller process failed."

I read through this thread, and some are having success. Is there a way to force a director firmware update? Mine currently shows it's running ai-director 1.016-615

This is straight from AI

"We would like you to try to re-install the firmware on your Vega.

To do this, unplug power to the Vega. Then, while holding down the button on the Vega, plug back in the power. After a few seconds, release the button. This will force the light into 'boot-loader' mode, meaning it doesn't have any firmware on it.

Then go back to the Director and Discover the light again and Save it to the Layout. Double click the light in the layout and click "Update Firmware". Once the firmware is updated, follow the onscreen instructions. You will need to un-Discover and Discover your lights again."

Not sure if this helps you. I ordered a new powerpuck and the director would not read it. After switching it out for the stock puck it works fine.

I would reinstall your new puck again and after you add the firmware to your Director, then perform a firmware update on your Vega unit.

That should solve your problem with having your new puck discovered.

Yea that has been tried, I have been going through every possible solution with AI. Right now they think it may just be a problem with the puck. Anyone else added a powerpuck and had these issues?
