AI Hydra Settings Thread

Wow the new Hydra HD looks pretty cool, you can over drive the channels that you want which is exactly what I'm after (more blues and not so much whites) taken from the article.

"With HyperDrive the Hydra 26 and Hydra 52 can redistribute the available power so you can ‘overdrive’ the LED colors that you actually want to use. What HyperDrive essentially means is that now if you have a Hydra HD, you’ll be able to not only turn down the white, green and red channels of color, but also turn up the power on the blue, royal blue and UV channels."

Burn baby burn. Overdrive? How deep of tank do people have? Lol

Most good quality led light underdrive their led, so a 5 watts might only get used to 4.5 watts.

If you drive one channel at 100%, probably you would drive it to 110% if you could while only driving the other at 30-50%.

so at 110%, the 5 watts led normaly driven at 4.5 still use only 4.95w.

Silly question (maybe) but do you have to keep the controller plugged in and powered on to work the lights?

Came down this morning to a dark tank, it hadn't ramped up as programmed.

Basically, to my eye the favor settings are kind of useless. Blue is way too blue and white makes more sense for my settings but my lights tend to favor blues anyway so the favor blues is kind of overkill

OK so here's my current setting;

W - 35%
V - 60%
R - 12%
G - 12%
DB - 80%
RB - 70%
UV - 60%

Ramp - 2hrs from 8am - 6pm

Don't like any of the moon settings, even the DB @ 1% is too much, so have a small blue single LED to create a nice moonlit glow.

I did try the violet at 1% but wasn't sure if my fish would appreciate the violet glow. I feel the small LED blue gives a more natural look.

Hi guys, reading all messages i saw that you keeping the white very low, but i notice that with hydra 26 keeping the white under 75 the tank look very blue , i use the see the tanks under the T5 and to be honest i dont like to see the tank blue, im currently going with:

For 6 hours
UV 60
DB and RB 90
Red 50
Green 70
White 80
violet 70

time from 8 to 10pm
3 hour ramp for sunrise and 3 for sunset

Do you have any suggestion , i would like to not lower the white more than 80 but the few sps i have are very light and im not able to let them get any color

hi would someone be kind enough to tell me what is the most up to update software update for the Director.

Mike
