AI Hydra Settings Thread

the Acro is 5" bellow the surface the light are 7" above the water. I am starting to think that it likes the light so much that the growth exploded. but i have never seen it grow like that on the sides. also when looking at it with just the blues on it looks like it still has color just not like it did. I never had a coral beach before dont know what i am looking at.

That's what I've found best with my tank.

My current settings. 3 hour ramp up

Ohhh ok. Is it more of a light purple opposed to white??

Bleached coral is white and that's it. You'll know

I'm up there as well, just at 75% on blues and 50% on whites. I added 8 new frags between last weekend and today so I'm on acclimation mode again for a few weeks.

It was light brown with day glow green pollops. looks alot more white than purple. The pollops are still day glow green if i put my flash light on it now that the white's are off i see a hint of brown.

how much do u turn down the settings when u put them in acclimation mode?

Ahhhh ok brown is a sign of the coral putting sun block on, so to speak. It's getting used to the uv rays and is getting ready for a growth spirt. This is what I've noticed with my corals. Also they'll color up nicely

Ok ya seems like it's just the coral getting used to the LEDs. Browning is a sign of growth. Give it time and just monitor it and adjust your %s accordingly to your likings

Whatever comes our way, whatever battle we have raging inside us, we always have a choice.

I like you signature! sooo true

Just just 4 hydras and the remote last week. Going to set them up over my 210 mixed reef. I have 3 ecoxotic 24 inch tablets over tank now (not dimmable) and they were burning up my softies, sps like them a lot though lol. I will see how they do and post results. Have a feelings may need one or two more for coverage reasons not intensity

How do you plan to mount them? You can also swap lenses for more depth if need be

I know guys on here have had good success with the uv and v intensities set higher. But I would try dialing down those intensities and gradually increase. I started mine at 2% and increasing 2% a week. I had ai sol blues prior.
You could also google a par chart for your previous lights and try matching with the hydra
