AI Hydra Settings Thread

Wondering if anyone can tell me if you can use any micro usb cable with the new ai controller. What i'm looking to acheive here is to be able to leave the ai usb cable plugged in and then use a generic version at my pc. In any other case with any other device I know this wouldn't be an issue but I just want to make sure.

Do you guys think the Director is worth the $100? does it do that much more? Or is it just that much easier to use?

It gives a little more control over times and colors with remote access and once the weather feature is working it will be much better.

Other than getting some information from AI themselves, these are the only ones i know. Just a bunch of trial and error. My settings are also east coast so adjust for your zone.

Hi guys,
I am contemplating these as well. However, thinking maybe the Hydra52's? Do you really think they are needed for a 36x18x24 65 gallon sps tank?
Seems these Hydra's you guys have are PLENTY. I just wanted to get your guys opinions, as you seem to be having to really dial back the hydras you have!
Thanks!

I have to much power now with the hydra's. I am bleaching corals but maybe when the coral get acclimated it could use more power but at 60% i was bleaching my SPS's. Can't see needing much more power.

How high off the tank are they? And what kind of lights did you have before?

I have 2 sol's

I have 2 sol's

I have 2 sol's, and I am very tempted to buy 2 hydras instead of doing the upgrade kit on my current units....Would it be worth it? I have a 90 gal display, and the 2 sols give plenty of light for my coral, but it's a little uneven...
