AI Hydra Settings Thread

what is the best setting i can use on the sps ?

To many factors to say what kind of SPS, how many lights, how high off the water? how clear is the water, how far bellow the water line are the corals and on and on.....
Best I can say is read this thread and see what best matches your tank and start there. Unfortunately there is no easy answer to your question.

Got a big problem.Im not sure where it came from. For 8yrs never had hair algae. Eever since I switch to led hydras, its out of contol. Is there any certain color that would cause this.

I feel you on the algae, I got some turf amd HA as wll and my test kits show 0 hanna and salifert. But just because they show 0. Doesn't mean they are not there. I had my g/r set at 15, I lowered them today to 7%. Lets see if this helps

Ok,Its my turn for one of the new updates. You have got to help me.Im dumb as a rock when it comes to this.I down loaded the director ok.Then the 2 lights said they needed updated. So i did that. Then i had to rediscover lights. Here is where i have a question. In where you discover lights,it still showing a statement, update required.I already updated the lights i thought.

If you are referring to the 'update required' text with the dot next to it under the layout grid then that is just a key to show you what to look out for when a light update is required. Each light will have a black dot on it when an update is required. That said the firmware pop up usually prompts you anyway

+1 reef bloke is spot on

Yes, Thats the one.I think its a blue dot to let me know what light it is.But when I rediscovered them I changed colors. So if nothing shows where I can update, and every thing works, I good. Thanks

Yes more than likely you got the update with the pop up. I think that is just there if someone cancels the pop-up as a reminder.

Yes, you right. It took forever to get the update.I was talking to a guy in Atlanta yesterday, and he was telling me his settings on his frag tank . Every thing was set at 100%,but the red and green, they where 40%.I thought that was high on the red and green. But iwas right there looking at the tank.Looked ok.
