AI Hydra Settings Thread

I got a 26HD. I like it. I set the royal blues to 5% at night and turned on the lunar setting. I feel like the moonlight is too bright!

I'm with duncanspete the moonlight function on these lights is pretty much useless due to how darn bright it is. I switched to an LSM module on my APEX over a year ago and couldn't be happier.

Bummer.

I used the moonlight on my tunze wave maker for years. Simple and worked great. Gave away the controller.

Hi everyone. I have been trying to read thru this very long thread and I have a few questions.
I have a standard 120G tank with two Hydra 26 HD lights 10" above the water.
I have gone thru acclimation period and I thought I had a decent setting for the lighting but I am getting green algae growth and some of my corals have started to shrink.
I am currently on the auto setting in the app and my settings are
UV 65%
violet 65%
Royal 65%
Blue 65%
Green 23%
deepRed 23%
cool white 23%

ramp up is 2.75 hours and then peak at above levels for 6 hours.

app states my power is at 66% at 16000K using 46W. I was trying to follow some other guides and I think I messed things up. can someone help get me back on track? I do not have the apex controller.

tank is softies and fish.

So after reading through this article (http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Ecotech_CoralLab_WP1.pdf) by World Wide Corals and ecotech I have decided to give their settings a try and adapt them to AI HD lighting. I have changed it slightly to include the built in respiration peaks (I am a big believer in including respiration peaks to give the corals a break from the most intense lighting just like clouds or choppy seas do on a reef) but have extended my photo max to 7 hrs and shortened the ramps. This is still longer then in the study at an 11 hr total photo period vs 9 in the study. I did this so I could enjoy the tank when I get home from work and don't think a few hrs will make a huge difference. The AI lights work a bit differently then the Radions though so even though im pushing more white/red/green the overall intensity is less. I did this on purpose since I run my lights closer to the water line. Also, I tried to take into account the differences between the amount/types of diodes between the Hydra HD's and Radions and adjust ratios accordingly. If you want to run their schedule to a t just shorten the ramps to 1 hr on each side while keeping the peak the same. I'm excited to get some input from you guys and my tank, also below is the link to my .aip if you want to give it a try! https://1drv.ms/u/s!Akco_cmvvLNrgZdjsRFPUuvDNEyYXw

Hey,

Just wondering if this is still the profile you are running? It looks like it isn't available on 1drive anymore.

Thanks in advance

Been playing with the lights for a while now. Was using the AB+ @24" AWL (lights are 15" AWL) but not a lot of growth. Making minor changes from week to week and have ultimately came to the graph pictured. The colors IMO have just enough fluoresce and polyp extension has never been better.

Thought I'd share for those of us who like to tinker...

iPhone pics and the FTS was shot with a filter to help with the blue-ish purple sand.

Hey Orcus Varuna, love the work your doing to recreate natural reef environments!

I have a AI Prime HD and have just started your AB+ low power setting with a 50% 3 month acclimation. Was running a similar straight line profile at 50% B/RB/UV/V and 12% CW/G/R

I have a 14G cube with a 14 inch water level and Prime HD mounted 10 inch awl
Tank is mostly Soft/LPS with a couple SPS

Any recommendations would be awesome
Thanks in advance!
Alex.

Orcus, i'm having trouble uploading the SPS high file. I switched it over to .txt and changed the version to 1 but after I use the SPS High setting all the values are crazy high and the presets are off the grit.

What am I doing wrong here?

There are some screen shots plus text instructions on there. It gets you through making the schedule compatible but some have had issues with presets showing out of wack on the graph. Everything maxes out so there has to be a fix to this.

Tonyreef- which hydra unit did you apply the file for? Did you get the settings to display as shown within the pictures?
