Ai hydra52

Finally install the ai hydra 52 under the hood of my 29g biocube. It's a powerful light for a 29g biocube but it fits good n has good spread inside the hood. Hoping the btas will love it.

Can you post pictures of how you mounted it under the hood?

Hi here is a picture of before and after. It is only running at about 34% max at peak time and its pretty bright. The corners are not being cut off as bad as i thought it would, since its so low to the water surface.

I had to remove the reflectir n the led moon light as well as the first set of rows of the led lights. I cut the two screw pegs for the first row of led. The hydra52 fits pretty good inside the hood, i use obe tie wrap to help secure, it is tie to the 2nd row of the led gir some some support but mostly it fits snug n the viver goes in the way it suppose to. i ran the cables on the rightside of the existing cabled n just cut the rubber piece so i wedge the ai power cable in with the rest n it fits fine. I can easily rewire all the originsl lights back if i want too. Hope this helps. Let me know what you guys think.

That is a LOT of light for the tank! Hell, you'll be covered all over which is great!

Are these the HD version?

Yeah i know its overkill but its was what i had to use after i upgraded my 110g to the 300w maxspect razor and i been wanting to upgrade the stock biocube lights. It wasnt enough for the btas to flurish, hoping the btas will start getting their colors back. Its the non hd hydra52.

You'll be totally good with that light man!

Yeah, my only concern is heat, hopefully only running it at around 35% at peak it will be fine. The btas seem to like it much better then the stock n they are not hiding n moving around is a good sign.
