I have a 75g and was wondering if i could get away with 3 Sol Blue modules that will be hanging? Ill have only SPS in the aquarium.

I have my 4 modules mounted 14 inches above the water to avoid spot lighting. However, mine are white first generation modules, so I think the optics are different than those that can be ordered in the newer modules, so the spread may be different, as is the color temperature as well.
Also, mine are mounted in the standard I I I I pattern on a AI set of rails. You could probably mount yours sideways like this - - - and get better coverage (less spotlighting) with a more even distribution of light over your 75.
Height really depends on the degree of optics you get, and the mounting configuration. I do think sideways mounting will let you mount them closer to the water and still get even light spread, if that is what you are seeking. However, you will really just have to do a little experimenting when you get the modules in.
