AI/Profilux programming

I finally received my AI cable today, and it only took over 7 weeks!

I programmed my lighting preferences (Illumination 1&2) into the Profilux controller using the standard RS232 cable and my laptop. I then unplugged the laptop from the Profilux and plugged in the AI cable (the AI LED light module uses the Profilux RS232 port also, so you can't connect your computer to the Profilux via the RS232 at the same time). Need to have a Profilux WLAN or USB module installed in the controller to connect to the laptop.

The AI LED is not following/responding to the program I input. Does the AI LED light need to be recognized by the profilux controller similar to the way the pH probe and Cond probe are recognized? Do you need to have the AI LED module connected to the profilux controller when configuring the lighting program on the Profilux controller via a laptop?

I hope what I wrote is somewhat clear. Thanks in advance.

you need to go to "special lamps" and tell the profilux it is connected. Make sure you have the latest firmware loaded and using the matching software. Also tell the ProfiLux is you have old or new style Ai lamps.

NEVER hot plug the RS232 on the back of the profilux with the Ai connected.

So Michael, do you have to have the AI light connected to the profilux while entering the light schedule/data?

No they do not need to be connected but you do need to -

Make sure under illumination that you have ticked dimmable

In special lamp make sure you assigned the Illumination channels that you are using

You pressed save

Well.... dimmable was clicked as was load, saved, new version, etc....... The Profilux is showing Illum 1-7% and Illum 2-5% but the light is 100% blue and 100% white. Program should be 100% for both at this time of day. So is the light not following the program or is the Profilux not providing correct illum values? Going to have to play with it some more tonight when I get home - frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another question - does the profilux Plus II come pre-programmed with time and intensity values for Illum 1, 2, & 3?

go to lighting scenarios and selecy manual illumination, now move the slider up and down does th lamp respond?

I am running what you have with no issues, therefore the Ai may not be accepting the command, but you need to get support from the right place.

Yes the controller comes with factory installed illumination values.

At this time I cannot perform manual due to only having the RS232 port to control the light and laptop connection. New USB module coming Friday. I re-checked programming and everything is checked, saved and loaded - no response from light - still burning at 100% blue and white. Thanks for the assistance, I will contact AI.

I keep seeing "new style" and "old style". How can you tell the difference. Right now mine is connected with what looks like a headphone connector, is that new or old style?
