Ai sols with new quadricolor

Dmoody

Artillery Drill
Right now I have my daytime lights set to 70% white 50% blue and 35% royal blue. Can anyone give me a lighting intensity setup that they are having success with in regards to the bta's.

90g w 30g sump, cheato farm, SX 160 skimmer, 2 AI super blue' mp 40Wes. There are currently no corals in the tank. 70lbs sand and 70 lbs rock. This is what I'm working with. Thank you

what kind of lights were the anemone under previously? you may need to start out slow and slowly increase intensity over time.

Also my mp40 is about 18 inches of the sand bed with no rock or anything around it, do I need to shut it up while I'm at work to ensure it doesn't get sucked in while moving around?

Ok he's not really moving, just kind of hanging half way into the shade and half way out. All lights are at 50% and MP 40 is at about 15%

I agree with Willster. I would get several foam covers (so you have backup) for your MP40. Eco Tech makes them. This will help protect the anemone if it crawls onto/into the powerhead (and they always seem to find them).

As soon as it comes out ill snap some. While we are on this subject, how long should I let it hide in the shade? I turned the lights down to 30% and figured I would just leave it alone. It's only actually been a day, do they hide for a while when acclimating ?

They can hide for a long time. Usually they will come out when they are ready. I've heard of people losing some in their tanks only to find it and clones years down the road

Wow.. Well it's day 2 and it is actually out near the bottom of the tank. Noticed last time when I turned the mp 40 up a bit the nem retreated back behind the rock. I turned it back down to about 40% and lights are set at white=30% blues=20% and it seems to be doing fine. I sent some mysis his way this morning and he pulled them in. Will post pics tonight.

Good sign that he's eating! And maybe he's just not used to sigh high powered lighting. Give him time before running lights full strength. I'm having to do the same for my haddoni. Only running the lights at 45%

It's out today. Still hides once in a while though.
