Airline tubing for ATO.

So I just changed my ATO container. My question is.. I drilled a hole in the cap of container where my airline tubing would go. When I put the tubing in, the end just curl's up to the top. I want the end to be at the bottom. How can I weigh it down, so it sits at the bottom and not the water line?

I zip tied the tube to a piece of PVC so it would hold at the bottom and wouldnt have any problem with rust or leeching chemicals. HTH

Edit: Just wanted to mention not to ziptie it too tight or you will cut off the water flow.

I just set mine up last night and had the same issue.

What I did was I had a couple of frag discs laying around.
I drilled a 7/32" hole in the center of one disc (tight fit) and then 1/4" hole through another (loose fit).
I passed the hose through the 1/4" disc and used the 7/32" disc to hold them on the hose.
The weight of the discs pulled the hose straight down in the reservoir.

Don't use airline tubing, too easy to kink, curl, etc. At least use the flexible 1/4" water line. Or use rigid tubing as suggested above. You can use one of those airline tubing connectors to connect the flexible stuff outside the container to the rigid stuff inside the container.

Where do you find ridgid airline tubing? I used reg. airline tubing for now, it's all I had sitting around. 1/4" water line. That should work. Will that fit my aqua lifter pump? If anybody has a pic of the PVC method, I'd like to see. Just looking at all options. Thanks!

I used leftover RO tubing from my BRS RO/DI system for my ATO, which uses an AquaLifter, and use rigid tubing from the lid to the bottom of the ATO (cut at an angle so it never sits flush with the bottom). My RO tubing fits inside of the rigid tubing, and I used a rubber grommet to keep it tight at the lid. Works like a charm.
