Right? Not much of an update. I saw SA had some albino clowns, they were describing as amelanistic, not black anywhere on their bodies, stripes, or fins. Not even around they eyes.

Black ocellaris

Black ocellaris

the parents of these clowns are a pair of Black Ocellaris, i have been told they are albino or leucistic black ocellaris, out of this batch i was able to raise about 50 fish 18 of them have red eyes and almost no black with clear pigments, 15 half black half clear, the rest don't look like they carry the gene and are already black, i have been breeding clowns for some time, and never saw a fish like this, here is a pic of the parents,

All normal looking babies are Possible Heterozygous for Albinism. The parents are both 100% Het Albino.

Unless of course albino in CF is a dominant trait.

Albinism is a reduction of, or lack of melanin. it is usually recessive and sometimes partially dominant so that there would still be a good amount of black in the offspring that have less of a reduction or lack of melanin. The red eyes are what made me 100 percent sure that they are in fact albino. The clown fish in south africa are the orange ocellaris not black.

Of the normal looking offspring,2/3 are carriers of the albino gene,1/3 are not.
Amazing, this is the 1st notice of albino Darwins (which sounds less "oxymoronish":D)

the clowns that look half and half might be visual hets, i would assume that they will darken with time since the parents are both black and are clearly het for albino, i would separate the fifteen that look half and half and hold them back to see if they do indeed color up with time IME
