Hi there I have been with an algae problem from soime weeks ago.

I keep doing my water changes weekly (10-20%), some times I siphon the sand but the next couples of days is there again.

Its on my sand, not on my rocks or in any other part., is not read looks more like brown

I dont like to use any chimicals to get ride of it. I will prefers natural, snails or water chages. etc. I use RO water and test it befor I put it in. beside my phospats are 0 but my nitrates are betwen 10-20, have a deltec skimmer and a phospat reactor.

As you can see in the photo this is one week progres of this algae.

My tank is kind young 6 months old.

Thank you

that looks like diatoms, and is totally natural in a new system. It should go away on it own with good husbandry;)

This is generally one of two things new tank syndrom which it will go away once your tank matures a little bit or two you don't have enough flow in your tank.

Low flow can cause this algea to grow on your sand and can also cause cyno.

In order to clean this out of the sand I use to use a Hair pick and just run it through the sand bed to get it stuck in the hair pick and then just pull it out and repeat until sand bed was white again! :)

I dont know if the flow os the reason. I have 3 Maxijets 900 in the tank with a Red Sea wavemaker. they are poit to the midle of the tank and for what I see in the corals than are seat in the bottom (like kenia tree) they move a lot.

I will give it some time. Thank you
