algae eating worms!

Thought Id share what I discovered like a month ago. I put a piece of live rock in a specime conatiner. Lit it up and algae grow on the glass. The live rock was clean of algae although.

To my surprise this little worm almost the size of a bristle worm came out and started eating large patches of algae. I was shocked as I did not think that a worm would devour so much algae. He actually put a huge dent in the algae population. Every so often the worm comes out and eats algae then hides. The worm was clearish looking with tiny lines on it.

So why are we using snails, man that worm was crazy! Maybee thats why reefs are so clean, with a lack of snails.

Just a thought :)
