Yep,that one
Anyone have any tips on how to prevent algae growth from "sticking" to the osmolator sensor eye ?
I am having a persistant problem with a coating of algae growing on the sensor eye, and making the osmolator "think" the sensor is still submerged. I have to clean it off weekely or else the osmo stops working.
This is on a tank that doesnt have a sump, so the sensor is mounted directly on the tank rim under some powerful LED lightng (not directly). The weird part is that I do not have an algae problem in the tank at all. You would be hard pressed to find any algae on the live rock or sandbed. The little bit that grows seems to be attracted to the osmo sensor ...............go figure.
I was thinking of trying to wax the sensor eye will car wax to see if that helps. Any other ideas ?
Thanks,
Herbie
