I think I'm dealing with hair algae here, but I'm not 100% sure. This is a newly setup (4 weeks old) 135 gallon tank, that I moved livestock over from a 65. I'm not sure how old the lights are, so that could be playing a part here. Just in case, I ordered 3 new MH lamps.
I don't have any type of macroalgae to pull out nutrients, I was hoping to load up the sump with rubble and get a cryptic zone going down there and not have to worry about lighting the sump.
I am running carbon and BRS high capacity GFO according to their calculator.
Nitrates and phosphates are both coming back 0, although I realize that the algae could be using this up so the test kits don't register it.
Should I throw a bunch of turbo snails at it?
It may be the lighting because the rock under the middle light is where the most algae is popping up.
Any advice is appreciated.
