Algae ID Please

It's very furry, almost like carpeting. It doesn't look long/flowy enough to be GHA, but I'm not confident enough to rule it out. It's isolated to the one little rock - I moved it to the sump for the time being because I'm scared of it spreading in the DT. Should I keep it down there as is, toss it (it has a small bit of gsp/a paly or two on it I'm not worried about losing), or dip/treat it?

There is a mini brittle star on the rock I'm kind of partial to and dont want to harm (you can see its arm if you look closely on the right).

Thanks for the help!

Looks more like a turf algae to me.

Thanks - hadn't seen turf algae before but after some googling that appears to be what it is. Thankfully it is isolated to that one tiny rock. That stuff looks like a major PITA to remove - so guess I will just toss that chunk to avoid the change of it getting into the DT.

Turbo snails can mow some types of turf algae down in no time so that might be an option if you don't want to toss the rock. Of course, they call also be bull dozers.

Turbo snails, pincushion urchin and emerald crabs made short work of this in my tank. Now an algae turf scrubber keeps it gone :)
