Algae Inquiry

Hello there!

New to saltwater, so not sure if this is diatom or something else. It is a new 75g, with a 20g sump/refugium that has live rock, live sand and macro. I do have a sump protein skimmer, however I am ignorant and can't figure out how to get the thing running.

The display has live sand and dead lace rock/dead coral centerpiece. The entire system has been running for about 6 weeks. I have about 6 turbos and 3 hermits, with three damsels to get the cycling going.

I wanted to make sure that this algae is not the harmful type, and if I should take immediate action to prevent a disaster. Any input is encouraged!

Thanks :fun2:

diatoms. nothing to worry about. they'll go away on their own. your snails will also eat them. you don't need fish to cycle nowadays. raw shrimps works too.
