What type of acrylic was your tank made from? Mine's cast Acrylite GP and I've been using a credit card in a Kent scraper for 2 years and counting and I only have a couple of scratches here and there. Overall, I'm still happy I went with acrylic.
Jeff no clue your yank was acrylic-What made u go that way vs AGA.

A couple of different reasons, mainly custom dimensions, wood floors, and horror stories about 250g of water on the living room floor. :D

Acrylic may scratch, but a well built tank just doesn't break. I had James at Envision Acrylics in Oregon build mine and ship it to me. It's fully eurobraced and 1" thick all around. Top notch quality.

OK OK -

I have the plastic putty knives from HD too, but I can never reach the crud just above the sandbed. I tried to insert a piece of Credit Card into my Kent Scraper and it actually made scratches! [/B]

thats the awesome thing about the attachment too, i can scrape all the way down to the sandbed, even going down 1/4" nps at all.

ive had it for abotu a year now, worth every penny! i hated with a passion sticking my hand in the tank, especially with my low hood and small tank openings.
