Algae scrubber lights

I just have to splice one in?

I used solder.

Then used heatshrink around each individual wire

Then one larger around the whole wire bundle.

Looks cleaner

Trick is, do not cut the wires even. keep the solder connection about an inch a part. That way if the solder wears through the heatshrink, it will only touch insulation. Not the other solder joint.

Been using them for a while now, many different ways , I can say my next build is going to be a mix 50/50 with these and the 4500k, I have tried both separate and together imo the mix is better. I can tell you what ever you need to know about these and the other ones like it, I have tried them all..lol.. ...just ask ..

Seen reviews on these on YouTube stating that the drivers don't come close to the watts that they claim to be.

That is known and a positive thing.

The rating listed in the chips max rating.

I like to save money on my electric bill just as much as the next guy, but if I'm buying a 20w light to grow something (or even general brightness) I expect it to run close to the claimed power rating. Not half.

These lights are a great deal for the price. But if you're wanting 20 watts of led light, buy the 30w (or higher) version.

I bought the 30w 6500k

It is very bright and I have no complaints.

Bought a 45w red/bue grow light for chaeto to, that one is insanely bright.

These ATF lights don't need much power and the wattage if it is 6w is just about perfect for the light pattern on the plastic screen.
