Algaecides get bad raps on the forums. The minute anyone asks abouth there use they are browbeaten into submission with the usuals such as,"attack the cause not the symptom" "more water changes" "break your tank down and start over". I have used it in fw systems and in my pond with great results but being so new at reef keeping and with so many unknowns its sort of spooky to try it! I will be doing it though as I bought a bottle yesterday:lolspin: Im not too sure what I have is hair algae,my stuff is shorter, much darker green and grows in thick tufts, its still soft like ha but more like moss seen growing on rocks in the woods.I wouldn't hold out then. This stuff is working like a charm. I am shocked that it is not more widely used and touted. My algae today is about 80% gone and I am only on my third dose. I also had a few fronds of bryopsis that is melting away so it works on that as well.
