hey i've got this teal stag while this thing has great color and very fast growth. It also has little strands of a hair like aglea growing out of it also.in the pic there very hard to see but some can be made out on the lower branches. As the coral grows the algea stands mutiply right along with it.they grow along every branch all over the stag and are about the size of the (i) in liberty on a quarter and semi clear(no real color).i'm gonna assume this is not normal and could be some kind of acro boring algea.if so how would i kill it?Ive thought about a iodine dip but it had one when i first got.also none of my other acro's have this problem.

Could they be actually long haired polyps? My green bali slimer has very long polyps that come out at nite as well as my purple tipped acro.

I wish it was, this algea grows inbetween the polyps on the branchs.if i could get a decent pic you'd see what i mean.

I think they may be some kind of sweeper, or it is sloughing off some mucus. I have a blue-tip staghorn acro that has done that as well.

Looks pretty close, there hydroids uh?anyway to get rid of them?I'd hate to see them spread to my other corals.
