Alien Eye Chalice Care

Anyone know how to color up an alien eye chalice under metal halides?

I have mine slightly under the front part of a cave Hiep. Mid flow. I feed it manually once a week with cyclopeeze. ( with all pumps off ).

A little for the first couple of weeks, then I slowly moved it out more in the ledge.

i keep mine low...ive had a few lose color when i put the too high...i have mine under 250w MH and they sit about 5 in from the bottom...the tank it 24 in deep and the halide sit 9 in from the water surface...it took me a while to get them that high though, they started at the bottom and i worked its way up there over 4 weeks

IME, I have found that most chalices like the lower lighted areas under metal halide. I only have 2 or 3 that enjoy the brights.

I stopped for a while, it kept on getting contaminated when little insects would drop inside ( mosquitos trying to lay eggs, etc ). But growing pyto was easy.

I only have 1 chalice that really loves high light, pink with a hue of blue on the edges. roughy 1/2 to 3/4 high in the tank.

This one gets teal streaks with more light. If shaded, it looks like in the pic.

Thanks for the Alien Eye and other frags.. I'm placing it in the frag tank for a few weeks before going into the main tank.
