alittle help with a h.crispa (sebea)

High nitrates could be an issue with the anemone. Any chance of installing a remote deep sand bed? Have you read threads on RC about those?

SDiver, a deep sand bed will fix your nitrates but may create other issues later. You may want to explore exporting your nitrates using macro algae such as chaeto.

NO3 at 35 I would do a few 20g water change over the next few days. 140g total minus rock means you could drop this to 17 or so with three water changes. Keep this up until you get it under 15 and see whether that helps this guy out.

I've found in the past when I've bought crispa sp that are bleached I got them to eat freeze dried food until they color up. HTH

Genetics. i have cheato in the main tank! i am missing up some water now. i will do a 30gal change every other day until they come down. will adding a fuge help any? right now i only have a sump.

Yeah, the remote sand bed is as you described. Do a search for it on RC. There is a very long thread on here with suggestions regarding the specifics by Anthony Calfo.

the nem didn't make it! give it a month or two and try to find one in better shape to start with. thanks for all the help and suggestions!

Sorry to hear that your anemone didn't make it. Work on getting your nitrate to undetectable before trying again. Although an anemone that is established can tolerate some nitrate, a stressed out, bleached, newly aquired one might not be able to.
