Alk a little low

I have been using Ocean's blend two part system since I started my tank. In the mid of the second year they changed formulas and made it stronger. I have began adding it again after trial and error on the strength of the new formula. My calcium ranges between 420-440 and my alk is consistantly 6.2-6.3. I have been adding 3 ml of each per day in my 90 gallon. I assume you should be adding equal parts of these, would I risk throwing off the balance if I started adding 4 or 5 ML of alk and keep 3 ML of Calcium to get the alk up a bit? If so would adding additional Calcium with Alk potentially put my calcium to high along with bringing my alk up? All other parameters are perfect range, RO/DI 25% water changes every month...Tank is not completely packed but probably 20-25 corals, Thanks

What is your Mag at?

You can safely add on or the other to bring one up, but it is a good idea to then keep the amount the same. They should fall, and rise, at the same levels symbionically.

Try some other additives. The alk. buffer from brightwell is very good.

FYI, Brightwell products are ok to use, but they are VERY watered down, so you need a lot of it to achieve the same rusults that you might get with a lot less of a different product.

I agree. I use Kent Super Dkh to raise alkalinity if there is a problem with it.
