what do you keep your alkalinity at in your sps tank? anyone keep it at 11-12dkh? if so what is your PH ?

11 dkh. Tank Ph 8.4 according to the Apex.

Alk stays at 8.4 I never worry about my pH. I do however see it go from 7.9 to 8.2 throughout the day, well so says my probe...

if ph drops or is kept on the low side what side effects can one expect and vice versa is kept on the higher side ? I have noticed since my ph has dropped some stn on my millepora is this common ? My ph is 7.5 got it to stabilize at 7.8 what brought this on not sure had issues with new salt Red Sea Pro it was jacked up took a reading and it was at 13.8dkh out of the mixing tub and my tank went from 10dkh to 11.5dkh but was weird is that my ph dropped from 8.25 day to 8.0dkh at night then continued down to 7.5 dkh i had to get rid of that batch of water and mix some Reef Crystals which is what i usually use and do a 20% water change after two water changes in the course of 7 days it has climbed up to 8.4dkh now just trying to get it back to normal without any more tissue loss to my corals..anyone have these issues?

9-9.5, 8.1ish-8.3ish I don't do anything specifically for PH I just know if it's off my alk/calc are out of ratio.

yeah that is usually the way it works ...now mine is 10.7dkh at 8.10ph finally got the ph up from 7.6ph.
