I was setting up my first dosing pump from Neptune systems. I know I am supposed to check the alk and cal on a daily basis but I got distracted with other things. I finally got a chance to check the alk and it is 14.7. Ph is at 8.5 How can I quickly lower the alk without hurting my corals? I di see some of them are already turning white. Please help!

Stop dosing & let it come down on its own.
Remember-- NOTHING GOOD happens fast in a reef tank.

Yup, that's the first rule of the two reefing rules.

Rule 2: Move slower than you thought rule 1 meant.

Let it come down naturally. But check daily to make sure it doesn;t drop too drastically. Only about .5 max per day.
