All T5 guys?

Hamilton Fixture
Guisemann (or however the hell you spell it) bulbs
- 2 blue
- 1 purble
- 1 daylight

Moonlights from 7-9:30am
blue/purple from 9:30 - 6:30
blue/daylight from 11:30-2:30, 3:30-5:30
Moonlights from 6:30-10pm

I get get guisemann's names for the bulbs if you care.

I can burn most LPS, but can't grow much SPS. I'm not sure how much of that is a function of light vs water quality/chemistry, so take it for what it's worth.

They are going to become supplements. I'm dialing them back and going with 4 T5s.

I've had so many tests run on this tank including some at a chemistry lab. My only conclusion is, too few nutrients, and too much light.

I'm coming up in a year with tank and almost zero to show for it. Less than zero actually -$$

I've got to try to adjust. I don't have the time or money I used to, so I'm feferring to practicality.

Jackson-gracias!

Ati Sunpower dimmable. With a Reefbrite added on to the front.
Currently running ATI bulbs
4 Blue plus
1 Coral plus
1 Aquablue Special

Light is 7 inches off the water and have no problems growing SPS. Of course all my SPS is at the top of my tank.

Blues run for 10 hours and daylights run 9 hours.

Thanks Dave. I was planning T5s for 7 hours with total Tim of all bulbs on for 5. I know this transition will take a while.

Just switched from reefbrite metal halides 400 watt on a light rail
Using there new quad t 5 with there led supplement
Also 4 of there new blue bulb running all on for 8 hours time
hope this helps / check out there sight

I did the same thing. Ran three radion pros over a 180 for about a year. Now I run 4 5 foot t5s on the tank as well. Much more success with acropora. I run two ATI blue plus and two coral plus. I think 2 t5s are on for about 6 hours and 2 are on for about 4 hours.

Mark - I can't help with the T5s but a couple ideas, that you may already be perfectly aware of. One, raising N03 without raising phosphates by dosing potassium nitrate which is available in a product called Spectracide Stump Remover at Home Depot. (I have NO experience doing this)

Two, this document. http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/ReefWholesale_CoralLab.pdf

This is maybe news to no one else, but I just recently discovered it. And I'm not sure how helpful it really is anyway.

I miss my halides.

thats a really good point - if your nitrates are below 1.0 let me know, I have potassium Nitrate on hand from a while back. unfortunately I'm working to head the other direction right now :headwallblue:

Fritz-yes, I’ve been running the Corl lab program for a few years.

Pascal-what are you using to measure nitrates?

Terry-I’ve been running at5s as a supplement for several years now along with the Radions

6 bulb ATI fixture on for 10 hours a day.

3 blue+
2 coral+
1 actinic

I run one blue+ and the actinic as "moonlights" on for an hour before the rest, and on for another hour longer at the end of the day.
