Allard's Clownfish?

I am considering purchasing a pair of Allard's Clownfish and wondered if anyone knows how big they get, if they will spawn in captivity, how difficult they are, etc.

Thanks!

Dave

I have had an allardi clownfish for about 9 months and has been eating like a madman(or most likely woman). it seems to be a very passive fish but can take care of itself in sticky situations. my flame angel has been flashing aggressively ever since I put the clown in the tank, but every time the angel pushes too far the clown gives my angel a nip and then clicks loud enough that it can be heard outside the tank. I would highly suggest getting them. I have seen an allardi mated pair being sold in liveaquaria for 200$(little bit expensive if you ask me) so I am guessing they can spawn in captivity.I have been trying to pair mine but it has been less than a month I paid 60 dollars for the both of them.

Being in the clarkii family they get really big. My big pair were HUGE and did lay eggs for me. At the time I was travelling 2-3 days a week so didn't have time to raise the fry. Mine were pretty aggresive. A guy here in Michigan bought some from MarinaP and is/was raising them.

It is the shape and thickness of the bands. The middle band is always much thinnger in Allardis and the band near the head slants slightly.
