Almost 11 foot long tank!

thanks erics3000 i now have the tank half way torn down and will be doing the rest of the livestock tonight and the sand tomorrow , then the tank gets moved sunday morning, god i am not looking forward to this, because i decided not to hire movers, because honestly i just hated to pay someone 750 for an hour or two of labor. but i honestly cant wait to set it back up again and make all the changes that i want to do.

I'm interested to see/hear the changes you are making. thats always the nice thing about having to move a tank. It's kind of like starting all over again :)

yeah definately JCTewks like i said earlier in the thread i am bumping the sump volume up to 300g and taking my barracuda pump off of the sump and using it for a closed loop, adding a blueline 30 hd-x pump for the return from the sump, wich will hopefully eleminate my microbubble issue, and also increase the time the water gets to react with the cheato in the refugium, im sure there will be more changes along the way also and i will keep posting on them the whole way

thanks nycreef69 i loved that birdsnest, but unfortunately we had the corals in holding bins and something happened, im pretty sure my heater malfunctioned and overheated the water and now that birdsnest , and a few of my other big show pieces are almost completely dead, believe me im sick over it.

also the tank is now moved and is in what should be its permanent home and the plumbing was planned and drawn, and we will start plumbing tonight

yes it does suck. but on a lighter note we got the new,way smaller overflows siliconed into place last night and got the closed loop and manifold completely mocked up and ready for glue. the manifold travels the complete top perimeter of the tank with 7 outlets along it that will be split with lockline so basicaly the barracuda will be pushing the closed loopthrough 14 lockline outlets. and the blueline 30 hd x will be the return from the sump returning through the bottom of the tank. so it should have absolutely awesome flow throughout the entire tank

well the closed loop and manifold are complete and ready to go so tonight we get to cut holes in the walls and get the plumbing ran into the garage for the sump so hopefully tomorrow night we will be ready for the first water test run and if all goes well start filling this thing back up again. (so we are definately crossing our fingers)

there will be pics soon i have taken some as we were doing all this just havnt had a chance to upload any yet. as of last night we drilled holes inthe wall for the plumbing and got the pipes ran into the garage, and as soon as the sump is re-fiberglassed we will be ready for that to go into operation. but as of now there is sand in the tank and water will go in tonight and the closed loop will be turned on.

Tattooreef you mentioned something about microbubbles. I have all my returns (from 3 tanks using one sump) submurged about 6" under the sumps water level into 100 micron polypropylene felt filter socks. The submerged pipes cut down the waterfall noise and bubbles and the filter socks eliminate any remaining air bubbles and trap any "floaties" that are in the system and give you a nice crystal clear looking tank. Here is a link where I got mine.
